Magical

What a day!
Great social breakfast with all our new found friends from last night. One of whose eyes lit up when we said we were walking up to the Fairy Lochs to see the crashed bomber… she and her husband had been up yesterday and her beautiful orange cashmere scarf had blown away in the blizzard… could we look for it?
Well, now we were on a mission and hoofed it up in the snow and mud… and yes, we found it! Hoorah!
We carried on up to the eerie site of a relocation passenger bomber which crashed in June 1945 having set off from Prestwick to take its weary soldiers back home to the US having survived the war. Sadly, clipped a mountain and tried to ditch in the sea, landed in one of these little lochans. All fifteen died and virtually all the wreckage was still scattered around including the engine in the water . What a sad story yet beautiful spot to end your days.

We came back down rather muddy but jumped into the car and headed to Aultbea, if only to visit the location of the famous Dramaqueen’s blip I love you/ Isle of Ewe. Sadly I forgot my wedding dress so couldn’t recreate the shot.
Stunning views wherever we looked as we went for lunch back at Badachro. Another jolly one with guests from the hotel who we played cat and mouse with trying to capture the emerging sunset at Red Point beach over Skye. Frankly, I needed a better camera but tried my best.
Evening meal in the hotel was excellent as we started in the bar to find our drinks had been paid for by the Orange Scarf owner! Hurrah again!
The evening was made better with more socialising and Badachro gin which continued late in the bar. With a cheeky smuggled box of After Eights.
Life will feel tame tomorrow.
