Wet Soldier Fly

A garden bucket was left out in the rain and this morning several insects needed to be rescued. One was this metallic green soldier fly. At first I didn’t recognise it because the wings usually cover the abdomen.
I had no idea it was so colourful, in addition to the metallic thorax and scutellum. I don’t know what its name is. “Metallic green soldier fly” is the name I have for it. It probably belongs to the Beris family. Turns out it's not a Beris, but  Neactina opposita. Anyway, it appreciated being fished out and dried, unlike the angry bumblebee that swore all the time I was tending to it.
