Gloucester Lights

Nipped into the City this evening to pick up a Thai takeaway, nothing extravagant, just couldn't be bothered to cook.
Stopped on Northgate Street to take this photo looking up towards, what else but, Southgate Street.
I expect you are wracking your brains to figure out what happens at 'The Cross' so I'll put you out of your misery. Eastgate Street heads to the East and Westgate Street to the West. Took me a while to get used that that when I first started living here!
It's actually a very nice town but with the usual sprinkling of closed shops. However, for all the knocking our politicians get I have to praise our local MP (Richard Graham). He's making great strides with development and improvements to Gloucester in general, lots going on.
Unfortunately, the Debenhams sign you can see left of centre is defunct since this huge, national, store went into liquidation. This is one of his schemes that is coming to fruition. The very large building, about 6 floors, including the basement, is being turned into City centre training and accomodation for the University of Gloucestershire. A lot cheaper than building a new campus. I expect the pubs, clubs and restaurants will benefit greatly from this too.
