Filet Mignon

My husband's birthday was Saturday. I couldn't make a birthday dinner then, because we were in Las Vegas. We got home last night (or, rather, very early this morning on account of horrendous traffic). This was his belated homemade celebration dinner. The endives were meant to be braised in butter and wine, but I was very busy today and didn't start them in time. His favorite birthday "cake" has always been pumpkin pie, so I always make one.
