Nearly Switch on Time

Bonchurch pond is a three minute walk from my house. I love watching the seasonal changes. The ducks with their ducklings, the Heron, Kingfisher and Grey Wagtail not forgetting the eight turtles who sit on a partially submerged branch and enjoy the sun! Then there are the Kingcups and other wild flowers plus the Geraniums that are still blooming. The pond is tended by volunteers and over a weekend in July the Open Gardens event allows people to walk right around it.
However, despite hating Winter, I also really love to see the Christmas lights twinkling on the water and tend to wander down at 4.30 pm over the festive season just to watch them come on. They are all set up and this Friday at 5pm will be switched on! I can’t wait!
