Aldeburgh

I was spoiled for choice today for a blip as we’ve had such a great and varied day. This is the only day we don’t have visitors to are visiting so I managed to persuade Mr C to relinquish the Guardian and come for a walk. We had a lovely 5 miles up the river, across the bridge then followed the old railway track into Walberswick where we crossed a creek to the beach. The village is very different from 35 years ago - now it had many very up-market houses and smaller holiday homes which cost over £1/2 million.

We then followed the river upstream on the opposite side from Southwold, back across the river and over the common home.

After a quick sandwich for lunch I prepared our evening meal in advance.

I wanted to get a photo of Blythburgh Church from across the creek so we drove the 5 miles there. However the light was wrong for a photo so we had a walk to the estuary which looked lovely with a rainbow lighting up the water.

We then went on to Thorpeness where the daughters used to enjoy the boating lake, before ending up at Aldeburgh. We bought a noon pie for tomorrow’s meal, then walked along towards the Martello Tower. The blip
is from the beach just as the sun was going down. It got spectacular as we reached the marina - I was torn as I have some lovely photos of the boats against the sky.

On the way back I took some photos of the Christmas tree on the beach before heading back.

We walked around 20000 steps today.
