Gardening today

41/2hrs gardening for George & Jean, not so much gardening as clearing leaves from their paths, (garden waste bin full plus 7 compost bags ), then I pruned back the grape vine in the greenhouse, emptied the greenhouse, gave it a blitz then put everything back exactly as I found it. George's eyesight is not great so it's important that he can find the tools etc. plus his sunglasses. There were a few grapes hanging from the vine so I snapped them, then threw them in the border for the birds to peck at should they wish to do so. Bobby robin was very verbal this afternoon.  Jean's rheumatoid arthritis is giving her problems at present. She'd just heard that her daughter was'nt going to visit from France before Xmas which had upset her as well. George is very unsteady on his legs but managed to make it into the greenhouse for a natter. He had a fall in the bedroom last Friday, his thumb & wrist joint were terribly bruised & sore. He had'nt noticed the bruising. We covered the current news topics pretty much before he decided to head indoors for a round of toast.  I loaded the 7 bags of leaves into the car (leaf mold), plus a wooden stool he wanted to get rid of. He's also got a pair of speakers, quite large & chunky that were quite expensive so did'nt want them to go to the recycle centre. I offered to take some pics and put them on the local FB page ... there might be someone out there who would like them. He said on my leaving that if anyone was interested and wanted to know more about them to give them his phone number & he could them more about them.
A phone call from the dental practice - my first appointment is the 24th January, so a very gappy Xmas. Eating is'nt a problem so I'm not that concerned, just won't be smiling much. That could be tricky!!
