Pentland Aromatics

First Saturday in the month and it's down to West Linton for the market and a visit to the Pentland Aromatics stall for a few last-minute gifts.

Relying on Mr Flum's nose and Nadine's advice for final selection from the unique fragrance combinations, our purchases were made, and followed by a  wander round the rest of the market. This proved productive as a local author regaled us with her research into historical events at St Andrews, and we bought one of her books, the Eyemouth fish stall provided some delicious crabmeat (all for me, Mr Flum does not like it).

Finding the atmosphere in the Olde Toll Tea House rather stuffy after the clean chill air outside, we continued to Peebles for coffee and scones in the Oven Door plus a wander round all the charity shops.

The day began in sunshine with grey cloud on the horizon; a few drops of rain fell while we were in the market, we drove away from Peebles in sleet, before we reached Eddleston it was snowing and continued to do so all the way home. Fortunately this was falling on wet ground, not ice and traffic accommodated the conditions well.
