Silly Saturday: We're In the Money!

The theme for this Silly Saturday: the National unofficial holidays for December 4 - cookies, dice, socks.

I was reading cookie recipes and read some for "coins". Later my eyes landed on this little coin purse of Isabella's. The idea for cookie coins filling a tiny purse was born.

The recipe I chose for these "coins" was Dorie Greenspan's Lemon Butter Cookies (Sables). They were buttery, lightly lemony, and slightly sweet. This is Jeff's favorite type of cookie. He couldn't wait until I said, "it's a wrap", so he could enjoy some of these sables with his tea.
