Railway or canal?

The Panama Canal provides canal and railway together. These electric locos pull ships into, through and out of locks, here at Gatun on the Atlantic / Caribbean end of the canal.
With locks 1000 feet long, near to its 100th birthday, and being enlarged with huge new locks and lots of dredging, the Canal is astonishing, and very moving in the way that great feats of engineering can be. Also, going through the Canal is another long-held personal ambition achieved.
