Holiday

3rd October and German National Reunification public holiday. Unlike some strange countries that move public holidays around at will, the Germans stick to the date & day it is meant to celebrate, even if it's a weekend day.

Had a lovely very long walk with Luna, starting  from the 1466 pilgrimage chapel at Eldern, just to the south of Ottobeuren, and then up to the golf course and a rather nice walk over the course, chatting from time to time with some players as we waited for them to take their shots. They seem to like it when someone seemingly has some understanding of the game and etiquette. Few Germans know or play golf and with public access over the course but without pathways to indicate the way, it is even for me a challenge.  Clubhouse car park packed with it's Porsches and the restaurant terrace packed with people eating and drinking under sun umbrellas.

Then a 180° turn, back the same way and then over the newly built overflow flood dam, riding stables back to car before going into Ottobeuren to enjoy a lovely Döner sitting out at Mert's on the Marketplace and then followed by a lovely chocolate mint organic ice cream from Pedro's next door.

Delicious Day.
