Behind the Scenes..

..at Whitwell Station, which was the base for this afternoon's cross country run. As the station has a campsite we've taken the opportunity to bring the van & stay over for a couple of nights.

The station was closed in the late 1950s & is now continuing to be developed as a railway museum with tourist facilities. Very short sections of rail have been laid to display the engines; the former line is now a popular long-distance walking & cycling path, the Marriott's Way, which links Norwich & Aylsham.

The cross-country starts on the Marriott's Way & then loops back across some very wet & muddy meadows, a stream (no bridge available), a pretty, albeit uphill, lane & the edge of an arable field. All good fun, but nice to get back to the shower in the warm campervan!
