Schroedinger's Test

We went out early for our Antigen tests. We had quite a long wait, enlivened by some very friendly others in the queue. The lab staff spoke no English but we reached a level of comprehension. A delightful young man walked up to us and said if we needed any help, he could assist. His English was excellent, tinged with both American and Irish accents. He went out of his way before he left to ensure that we understood how our test results are to be delivered.

Results will be available between midday and 1 pm.

Assuming that we are negative, we think that we shall go directly to Portugal rather than stay here for another night.

Now we have to deal with another time change and the animals will wake us too early for their breakfasts for the next few days... also, dinner won't be for AGES now. We compensated both for this fact and an early start with no coffee, by rewarding our testing endeavours with coffee and pastries at a little backstreet pastellaria. Both were excellent. In fact a man in the queue told us it was one of the very best places in Zamora and I replied that I have good nose for these things :-) Seems that I was right
