Benedict Cumberbatch

This grave does not belong to Benedict Cumberbatch’s great-grandfather but his little brother Robert who died at the age of 13. Robert William Cumberbatch died in 1876 in Izmir Buca Turkey. Robert who was the great-great grandfather of Benedict Cumberbatch. On 25 April 1864 he was appointed Consul at Smyrna (now İzmir, Turkey), remaining in his post until his death.
