Lincolnshire Fen

I have marvelled at some of the beautiful shots people take of mountains, hills, rough seas and the like, but have not seen any yet of fenland, which is of course a bit boring.

So here is a shot taken on Rippingale Fen in Lincolnshire, which shows the one asset we do have - big skies! Being a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society, I don't rate the sky today particularly highly, but hopefully I will be blipping some more spectacular ones later.

With all the wet weather, and the snow we have recently had, the crops on the fen are looking pretty dire, with patches that are completely brown and dessicated.

It seems that farmers everywhere are really suffering this year both on lowland and upland, and we should all make a real effort (if we don't do already) to buy British and support them.
