Stop work

The local drainage works that have kept us amused (and irritated) for months seem to have come to a muddy and inglorious halt. All the big shiny vehicles have disappeared, leaving only a few abandoned wheels. There is just as much surface water as ever (extra), in fact there is more, because it has been raining for weeks. The only sign of life today was one happy frog in the muddy water.
There are still one or two pipes half in and half out of the ground, so I expect the workers will be back when (if) the rain stops.
