Sycamore Gap

Really must be viewed large on black to see the cloud detail

I dropped the Mazda over to Penrith today for it's annual service and MoT. Then Deb & I went over to Hadrian's Wall, and walked from Steel Rigg Car Park at twice brewed, over to Housesteads and back. The skies were amazing, and I simply loved this angle on Sycamore Gap with the amazing sky behind. Even at 11.15 the horizon still had sunrise colours, and the clouds kept forming into lenticular clouds.

Even with a 0.9 grad filter, I had to bracket this exposure by 7 stops to cope with the huge contrast range,

An amazing day (and the car sailed through the MoT)!
