Mama and Her Chick

When we got back from our brief family holiday yesterday, we saw that there was only one chick in the nest (she was not in the nest when we looked). This meant that she lost two (2) of her chicks. We finally saw where the other chick was, and it looked like it has been dead for a couple of days.
