Arrival

The District Line tube is arriving.
We made Christmas cards at the refugee centre today. It was quiet as there are no English classes on Wednesday mornings.
David and I decided to abandon our reading of Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and switch to ‘The Country and the City’ by Raymond Williams. Much as I like Annie Dillard, reading it aloud wasn’t working for us.
We walked around the park and enjoyed some of the Christmas lights at nearby houses. We’re having some trouble keeping off the subject of politics today.
Last night we watched an old Hitchcock film, ‘Stage Fright,’ which has a great cast of British stars like Alistair Sim and Joyce Grenfell, as well as a very young Jane Wyman, and Marlene Dietrich.
