Dinner in the diner

On the road all day ( 7hrs ), as we were on our way back home after a few days with the Flopsies, we had a stowaway as Flopsy has come back with us for a little break.
On one of our many refreshment stops we stopped at a Little Chef near Kettering and it was done out a bit differently to the usual ones, very bright & cheerful the reason being as Flopsy informed us was that it was designed by Heston Blumenthal or as I like to call him Heston Bloomingheck.

The history being :-
The first Little Chef was built & designed (based on an American diner) by Sam Alper and opened in 1958 in Reading.
It spread across the country on A roads and Motorways. The chain went through different ownerships & in 2004 the logo was changed from Fat Charlie to Slim Charlie for a more healthier image, but after complaints from customers he went back to being fat!
In 2006 the chain went into administration but was rescued in 2007.
In 2009 Heston Blumenthal the celebrity chef did a documentry on Channel 4 about reinventing a branch in Popham near Basingstoke and by 2012 altogether 11 branches had been changed.

Mr Toad is rubbing his hands in anticipation
