Lockdown by stealth

Are we facing lockdown by stealth? After today news that Covid has risen to over 88,000- 10,000 more than yesterday- we don’t need experts to tell us to stay at home.
 
However, we braved it to our local garden centre to get some essential plants expecting it to be busy. Instead it was virtually empty. 
But we aren’t likely to repeat this experience until this epidemic passes.
 
It looks as if we are all ignoring Boris’ and instead listening to Professor Chris Whitty, the Covid expert.
