St Mary's Well Water Lane

While waiting for a train I did a short walk from the Station in Shrewsbury down Water Lane. The lane dates from at least the 12 century with the sandstone walls of an old Friary on the left and it leads down to a medieval arch by the river Severn. Cromwells troops are said to have entered Shrewsbury up this lane. I've added an extra to show the arch.
