Nnenna Freelon

Tonight we attended holiday concert at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, featuring jazz singer, Nnenna Freelon with the Raleigh based John Brown Big Band.  The link tells you all about Nnenna, but not about John Brown.  The bassist is a Durham performer and the head of the jazz program at Duke University.  This was the first program for the big band since March, 2020.  Nnenna said she had been wearing sneakers for two years and had to relearn wearing heals.
