Love Light

Fourth candle today, the love one. It (and the huge Paschal candle) was lit by a group of scouts with a candle that was lit by a candle that was lit by a candle (etc) that was lit from a lamp in Bethlehem. At the end of the service, they came down and lit everyone else's candle to take home.

The priest behind, Padre Wagner, arrived from Brazil on Friday, and will live with Padre António and cover for him when he's away.

I love following the beam of light that comes from the window high up in the back of the church, as it goes from left to right, inching across the altar and the silver cross, then to the lectern, then across the Holy Family group on the far right.

Gratefuls:
- chatting to a new resident who is doing up a house on the main square, João Alburquerque, and his sweet dog, Johnny
- lunch at Pátio (we brought enough meat home to do another meal tomorrow), and chatting to Fatinha, serving there
- chatting to a group of Moroccans who are picking olives here (it's a huge harvest this year)
