Wonderful to be home

What a wonderful day with my bro. Firstly, we briefly visited the farm that houses the building that is his usual place of work, to see the birds and alpacas there (he works with troubled teenagers who can't/don't attend regular school). Then we went to the Colchester branch of The Range, where I ordered some bedroom furniture and indulged in several Christmassy purchases including a Santa who is nearly a metre tall and worthy of a photo in his own right another day!  After something to eat, our third port of call was Colchester Kawasaki showroom. Sometimes Harley rider and sometimes scooter boy (he owns both), bro has his eye on a new 300cc Vespa for his 60th birthday next Spring. The bike shop was just amazing. Firstly, it is huge, selling the largest variety of 2 wheel machines I think I've ever seen, from Harley to Vespa, with various antique bikes - and some from my youth, (hmm, same thing?) on display. Secondly, it has a boutique cinema (seats a dozen) with bike and scooter you tube videos running on loop that we watched for a while, housed in a museum style mock up street where nostalgia and biking memorabilia for mods and rockers is all around as the 'stock' displayed in the 'shops'. We were there for a couple of hours, including a cuppa in the cafe, really fun and interesting. Visually satiated, but not quite ready to put a deposit just yet, we drove back for dinner, again, at the Fox and Raven (see yesterday) then home for a couple of beers and TV.  Wonderful day. So good to be here.
