Across The Forth From Fife

Back to Edinburgh today, a little more compos mentis after a long weekend of fresh air in the Angus countryside.

There are three things I enjoy about this east coast rail journey (that's the geographic location rather than the rail provider - you get the same experience with Scotrail):

- passing Edinburgh Airport
- crossing the Forth Rail Bridge
- looking across the water to Edinburgh and its environs

It's my third highlight that I present today - sandbanks and silvery water, clouds and blue sky, volcanic plugs and the undulating landscape in the distance.

Taking photos from train windows: such fun!

I liked this photo too but I've posted something similar before!
