Life through the lens...

By ValC

Lunch out today with grandchildren H&J to Grandma Pollards, for fish and chips.
Unfortunately it was very busy, due to the Easter Holidays, and so there was no room to eat on the bus, and we had to eat in the café.

Grandma Pollard and family opened the "Chippy" in 1957, Nr Todmorden.
She started as a baker at 16 , and so as well as fish and chips she also sold her homemade pies, and famous vanilla slices.

Today her son Tony is still frying fresh haddock & chips, as well as pies.

The staff are some of the most friendly people you could meet anywhere.
A great institution!
They just need a bigger bus!
