Clapham

A  very misty day.
Walked round  AH woods  before driving over to Clapham, mostly in the mist. At times we rose up over the mist and the sun was out, but then we'd be down a hill and back into the mist.
We got to the New Inn in good time and set off to walk round the village . There wasnt a  breath of wind but at 2 degrees it was very cold so we didnt walk as far as intended. There were a lot of people about, not surprisingly as for many its the beginning of the holidays.

We'd asked for a quiet table  and they did us proud as our table was the only one in the small area between the bar and the lounge, right next to the Christmas tree. Very socially distanced .

It was so good to see Paul and Becky... after such a long time.  We hope to meet up end of Jan/ early Feb to celebrate Ms birthday   Today was a Joint birthday ( Paul and mine)  as well as a Christmas get together. We hope to meet up but we are well aware that we may well be in lockdown again.  I suppose it is inevitable.

As we set off home , the mist gradually cleared and there was a wonderful stunning sunset. The sky was golden , yellow, apricot orange turning into greens and blues. But my phone was in the boot and my camera was at home. So, no photo.

We were back home by 5:30 but  as it was dark it felt much later . An early night for me tonight
