Back to the tradition

Every year my father and I take a trip to see Arley Station on the Severn Valley Railway around Christmas time (we do go several other times a year as we love the place so much).

We've been doing it since I was a very, very young lad, the whole family used to actually go on the train from Kidderminster to meet Santa in his Grotto at Arley Station. More recently (probably the past 30 years) we've done it on our bikes.

Two years ago they changed the Christmas specials on the line so they didn't stop at Arley station, this was even before Covid had hit, then last year there were obviously even more issues to deal with.

We still went to the place for old times sake but we are glad it's all back on this year, we took Orla which was another bonus. So no train journey or bikes this year, instead we walked  from the other side of the river.

Extras ----->

Grandpa with Orla + the more traditional shot I take of the station.

The little robin made the cut this year as it was so tame and inquisitive. Orla loved the fact it kept on appearing right in front of her then would fly off again, it was literally inches from her face. She kept on saying "bird gone", then it would reappear and she would laugh and smile...so cute.

So glad we did it this year even though the weather was pretty miserable.
