Brigels

What a fab week, one day back at work, then on the road to the mountains again. Our friends have a holiday flat in Brigels, a fabulous little village in Graubunden, and asked if we wanted to come along, as they were going up for a long weekend. The weather forecast was so fabulous, we had to say yes. At 6.30 am we were on the road, leaving the dense fog of the flat lands behind, and heading East through the mountains. After a beautiful sunrise over the lake, we were already there before 9, so time for a coffee at the flat, then up the mountain with the skis. It was really quiet, and the weather was totally stunning. We had an early lunch after a bit of skiing outside a lovely hut, warm in the sun, then early afternoon we stopped to make our own schümli pflümli. Mr S had brought the MSR burner, schnapps, coffee sugar, can of squirty cream and cups, plus some Lübeck marzipan choccies. It was so nice, to melt the snow and sit on a great little bench at 2300m drinking special coffees with great friends.
We skied until everything closed, the conditions were so good, then had a lovely evening together back at their cosy flat.
