When words cost money

This was going to be a picture of the sunset that wasn’t. It was 3.45 when I took a photo to record the beginning of the longest night. But there was no sun and so no sunset.

I was just thinking what a boring picture, when our daughter sent through a message saying thank you for cards received today. She included this photo of a document which she had found in the envelope. How strange! Gordon explained that he had been looking for an envelope that was big enough to take all the cards and somehow managed to use one that already had this document in it.

The document
A telegram (remember those) which he had sent to his mother to tell her that he had passed his exams etc. for his degree. Of course the grandchildren were intrigued by this and the idea of telegrams. A historical document which could be in a museum. He has decided he should be in a museum himself.
