What lives in the Woode?

So, is there a pack of Spottis living in these Woodes in Marchmont?

My overactive imagination immediately started presenting me with images of Spottis, which are, obviously, a cross between Mogwais and Scottish wild cats, but spotted. Any other ideas...?
