Went to meet this splendid lad after work; I blipped his lovely mama a few weeks ago, before he arrived.

All over the media today is the news of Iain Banks' terminal cancer. He's who I was referring to in this blip - his partner (now wife) Adele runs the Dead by Dawn horror festival at Filmhouse. I have so much admiration and respect for the pair of them and how they're handling it, i.e. with extraordinary courage and a large measure of gallows humour. They're often in my thoughts.
