AFRICAN CROWNED CRANE

Crowned Crane (Balearica regulorum); native to Sub-saharan Africa it is considered to be Endangered due to habitat loss and the illegal taking of birds and eggs by poachers. Like most cranes, they are big birds standing a meter tall.

They are omnivores eating just about anything from seeds, plants, insects, frogs, worms, snakes and small fish. And they will take eggs of aquatic animals.
