A day of wintery scenes

My efforts to get well soon, after my recent cold and runny nose have paid off. I felt fit enough to go out with Peter today, to shoot some landscapes.
Het picked me up at 06.45 and first we went to Zeegse. A small nature reserve in Drenthe that should be able to provide us with some nice wintery scenes, with hoarfrost on the ground and trees.
And we were in for a treat. It was beautiful! So silent and quiet, no wind, no people (well, hardly) from the time we were there 7.30 until 10.00.
I captured quite a few compositions of which I can't wait to see the results on my big screen.

After coffee in the car, we went on to the monastery in Ter Apel. The plan was to fly our drones over it. Should be nice.
And it was! Again, hardly any people, beautiful light and no wind.

By the time we were finished in Ter Apel we both needed a toilet. But because of the lockdown, restaurants weren't available.
But, Ter Apel is on the German border. We checked the COVID-requirements of Germany and decided we were allowed to go there.
Within half an hour we sat down in the Dixi-Grill in Emmeln (near Haren Ems), ordered a huge currywurst and pommes, and went to the toilet.
Perfect!

Now we were in Germany, I remembered a beautiful location to fly our drones again. Schloss Clemenswerth in Sögel. 25 km from the Dixi-Grill.
After our currywursts were gone, we drove on to Sögel.

The scenes at the Schloss/Castle were even better than Ter Apel. Georgeous light and, again , no people. Well, one person.

Just at the moment our drones landed and we planned to go to another spot, a man came up to us, telling us it was absolute forbidden VERBOTEN to make photos the way we did. Oops...
He preached on for a while, and even ordered us to delete all our photos and footage. "Das sollte SOFORT gelöscht werden!"

We apologized and told the man we didn't know about that all, that we were just here on a private occasion and we had no plans to publish, sell anything, anytime.
The man accepted our story (which was 100% true, exept for the selling part), became friendlier by the minute (and so became we). Finally we said 'Auf Wiedersehen' and we quickly went in the car, with all our pictures and footage still on the memory cards.

Bad luck though, we can't share them on Instagram, Facebook, or here.
Not now at least....

The sun was setting already, the light becamne hazy and we decided to head home again. Around 16.15 Peter dropped me off at home, we had a coffee together and that was that. Another great photography day in the pocket.

I still have to post process my images. For todays blip I picked this little bench in the beautiful pink morning light.
Chances are that I will upload a few more in the extra section in the near future.
