Bellbird

This was an accidental shot. We were packing up to leave, ahead of a black cloud that threatened another shower. I had just put the tele lens on in anticipation of photographing a couple of kereru (native pigeons) that were perched in the top of a tree. As one of them flew away, stuffing up my composition, this bellbird (korimako) flew into another smaller tree right in front of me. There were lots of bellbirds in the garden, but until then, they had been easier to hear than to see. This one didn't stay long, but I managed a couple of reasonable shots before it flew off.
