Christmas dinner

Thanks to the prep I did yesterday, Christmas dinner wasn’t as delayed as usual.

We had a wellington/lattice, pigs in blankets, bread sauce (homemade), stuffing (from a packet), pan-roasted maple parsnips (overly mushy), sliced red cabbage and apple (too al dente), carrots, Brussels sprouts with chestnuts and lardons, roast potatoes (delicious), all served with gravy and a spiced cranberry ketchup, and washed down with a bit of fancy fizz.

As ever, there is no room for dessert – except, perhaps, for a cheeky mince pie in a bit.

I hope you’re all having a lovely day, with fun, joy and laughter, despite any sadnesses you might have. Merry Christmas, everyone.
