Cheers, Blip Friends!

The only person there that was totally English was Mike, but it was definitely an English Christmas; must say, I was surprised how good it made me feel - given that my childhood Christmases weren't at all like this. The only person not in the photo (apart from me) was five-month old Sierra, who had gone down for her nap, but you can see her in Mike's Blip extra.

Roast turkey with all the trimmings, and a vegetarian, beetroot alternative for the two who don't eat meat. And then Christmas pud with brandy butter, mince pies, and Christmas cake. Plus other, less English alternatives. Needless to say, we all came away with enough for at least another meal or three, as you can also see in Mike's (disgusting) main (he could have blipped the mince pies or salmon starters...).

And the crackers went off with a bang, even though there was no bang, the hats fitted (sort of) and the jokes were suitably awful (though the girls liked them).

Gratefuls:
- a merry Christmas, after all
- looking at photos of Christmases past, for the generosity of our co-grandparents, who have hosted all sorts of my family over the years, brothers, nieces, son, daughter, and so on - you're heroes, Gaynor and Andy, not to mention excellent cooks!
- more rain, and enough sunshine to keep our batteries going, plus both the cats and I feeling a lot better
