Journey

I had a mid-morning trip into Edinburgh to take A to the Bus Station to begin a journey that will, hopefully, end in Costa Rica. It all sounded like a good idea a few months ago, when she bought a ticket to fly from Heathrow on 17 December. However, no trains on Boxing Day dictated a coach journey to London. Having had a negative lateral flow test just before leaving, she hopes that she won't pick up Covid on the packed coach and fail the test she's got booked at Heathrow first thing tomorrow!

Whilst waiting to make sure she got off OK, I had a wander around the top of Calton Hill. Not everything there is an architectural gem, but the view of the turd is jarring. I liked the addition of this man to the National Monument, and thought that it might be a good place for an Antony Gormley statue.

Back home, I resisted the temptation to start work in response to activity from our developer and two collaborators. There are emails to write to friends and family , and I've got a Lego Old Trafford to build!
