Crazy About Birds

A Horse of a Different Size

These two horses are in  another paddock at Oakfields that is also on the road where we walk. They are usually not available to get carrots because usually the young woman who owns them - who rents the big stable at Oakfields and seems to teach riding or something - usually gets out before we go past and has taken them to the stable to get ready for their day. But! Today they were there - rather a long way away - but they do know I have carrots because they've occasionally gotten them before. So over they came. The one in the foreground is REALLY TALL!! Compared to his friend, but also mostly compared to the Connemara ponies in the other paddock (who were not interested in schlepping all the way to the fence this morning).

Anyway - these two enjoyed the carrots. I have no idea what their names are. Or even what sex they are because they were both wearing coats. The smaller one is - I think - the one that wears the striped fly suit in the summer. There used to be a third one with them, but it hasn't been there recently.
