Waiting for the windows

Taking this photo has become as much a part of the family tradition as the things we were waiting for.

We were in Melbourne on Christmas eve afternoon to see the Myers windows. This year the theme was Peter Rabbit and one of the better sets of windows for a number of years. It is hard though, as you snake in a queue in back and forth in front of them, but to sneak a peek. So we muck around, take selfies, listen to the buskers, keep A happy and enjoy the moment.
We were down a man this year, as E is isolating over Christmas after his flatmate realised ( after arriving in Darwin) that he had caught Covid in Melbourne. Oops!
It felt like we had arrived too late and that Christmas was over in the shops - with minimal Christmas decorations on view. I felt like shouting, the 12 days of Christmas hasn't even started yet!
