Zaanse Schans

A thick layer of mist hung over the land. We were in little hurry, although I find fog, windmills and the narrow long strips of meadows between the small canals, ditches, already mentioned in an earlier entry, very attractive. There is just not much to see.

First we drove to the Twiske nature reserve to walk a super short round of 1 kilometre. An insignificant distance with which we close our Long Term Netherlands Challenge.
I would rather go to the Zaanse Schans. Very touristy I know, but worth to visit. There we made a round of 8k over Zaandijk to Wormerveer and back on the other side of the river to Zaanse Schans.
There were an amazing number of other tourists and there were several who walked the same route.

It has been a nice couple of days and walks. We're also satified that the weather was beautiful for walking.
In the extra a view on part of the Zaanse Schans.
