Easy

Long lie in and a slow start to the day…rather lovely. The weather was hideous though, lots of heavy rain and dark skies, so we chilled around the house chatting, half watching a couple of daft films, eating pigs in blankets breakfast sandwiches and making some phone calls.
Went into town with T via his club to check on things and for him to leave some notes etc. Such a jolt of memories for me to go into a club in the daytime when it’s all closed up and empty, none of the neon is on and there’s no buzz of it being open. Really reminds me (the smells especially!) of going to pubs and clubs with my Dad on the weekend mornings helping him restock vending machines. I hated it, and was very pleased when he stopped that job and moved on to something else that didn’t involve me being trailed round with him. At least there isn’t now also the stale smoke smell to mix with the stale alcohol….
Anyway, having browsed both the incident logs and the VIP drinks menu (good grief!) we locked up and went into the shopping centre for A to print some photos and for T and I to go to the Apple shop for him to collect his new AirPods. It was really busy, so we just did what we had to and got out, then went to visit K and exchange pressies. She’s just finished making this quilt that took her most of the last year.
Lots of chat and laughs and cake as always, then we went home to finalise dinner….
We had a great evening….slow roast spiced lamb with rice and orzo (extra) then games. Although in the extra photo we all look very serious, in fact once we’d cracked the game we had lots of laughs, including T nearly collapsing in fits trying to say Ohio backwards (you had to be there!). Followed on with a few rounds of UNO flip which was as always fun.
