Two new hats and a scarf.

Late morning walk. Cold. Christmas presents got their first outing. My wife’s hat is from Alan Santry’s “Elie” collection; turnback hat with multicolour pom pom. Her scarf is the matching one, it’s called the tubular “Dolly Mixture” - what a nice name! Lovely quality. We’ve bought some of his woollen accessories before. The company is in the East Neuk of Fife, their items are made in Scotland. My hat is the official Scotland Rugby 2021-22 Navy turnback beanie with electric blue, purple and green stripes, and multicolour pom pom. It has the 3D embroidered Scottish Rugby crest. You can’t see all the colour detail in the photo. It’s lined. And very cosy.

Made soup with yesterday’s Turkey stock. Nice.

A friend visited briefly this afternoon, the one who did our replacement doors, balustrade etc project. Has a scan date for early January, concerned about what all the Covid19 situation will mean then.

Scotland confirmed 8,252, 11,030 and 10,562 Covid19 cases on 25, 26, and 27 December. New protective measures now in place (and ditto Wales, Northern Ireland etc). England circa 100,000 cases a day, no plans for measures.

The Edinburgh-Glasgow 1872 Cup derby rugby game was cancelled at short notice; I had just sat down to watch on TV and then realised something was wrong! Covid had hit the Glasgow squad late today. They always have a second leg replay just after New Year; doubtful that will go ahead.
