A Bonny Orkney Day

From the highest point on the Orkney Mainland, looking over the South Isles, across Scapa Flow to Caithness.  We have been truly blessed today.  Morven, (highest point in Caithness at 58 miles away) also clearly visible.  For completists the ferry the ‘Hoy Head' can be seen leaving for Hoy.

For other completists, my route was around Swanbister Bay, through Orphir Village, up past Loutit’s Cottage to the top of Ward Hill, along across to Gruff Hill, down Scorradale, along to Grindalay House and around the Saga Centre and home.

To top it all I’m being taken out for my supper this evening.
