Chester FC 2 AFC Fylde 2

It was a thoroughly entertaining match today but incredibly frustrating to concede an equaliser in the 90th minute especially when the visitors were down to 10 men. Normally we are the ones scoring late in the game but these late goals had been preceded by generally poor performances so exciting finales had disguised the problems. Today we played consistently well throughout the game and deserved to win. It is looking up for 2022.

The blip shows new manager Steve Watson doing his post-match interview which made interesting listening. His whole approach is completely different from  Bern and Jonno, the previous managers.

On a COVID note there is an interesting situation at Chester. Most of you will be unaware that the England/Wales border runs through the ground. Most of it is actually in Wales and you can see the borderline if you click on the map icon. With England and Wales currently having different COVID regulations there is a bit of a dilemma. The main office is registered in England which means we can still have crowds in attendance but the alcohol license is held in Wales and the bar itself is over the border. This probably explains why it was table orders only today. I was sat having a drink afterwards with Rick and Dave and Dave pointed out that the border probably ran through our table and I was sat in Wales while he was sat in England.
