Guilty

The case for the prosecution: You entered, freely and by your own admission, into the Wycombe branch of the much maligned Starbucks chain at 07.10 hours this morning, in full knowledge of their shameful record on tax evasion, and in direct contravention of your pledge to boycott their wares until and unless they pay their fair share of taxes. The prosecution rests.

The case for the defence: It was very early. I walked up and down the deserted shopping centre several times looking for an alternative, to no avail. It was cold. I was hungry. Ok, I admit it! - and I feel terrible. But it was warm and coffee-smelling inside. And the banana muffin was so good, even if it left a very bitter taste. The defence hangs its head.

Verdict: guilty as charged.
