Youngest's eye

Trying to work out carpet sizes today. The man in the shop said I need 12-14 square metres for a staircase. That seems an awful lot to me. Anyone have any stair carpet experience???

Other than that, it was eldest's first day of a new job today. He came out smiling and saying how much better it is than his last one. Fingers crossed this one works out.
