The Forest Within

A miniature forest of lichen on a small stump, noticed on our walk in King's Forest (from West Stow) today. No macro lens, no tripod, but it had to be my main Blip for today. Beautiful warm, sunny day - had almost forgotten what they were like. The forest is mainly coniferous plantation with some areas of birch and beech. Not as varied as the section of Thetford Forest we often go to near Brandon, but still with sandy or grassy tracks (i.e. not too much mud to clean off our springer afterwards).
