Nature Diary... A Welcome Sight

As Big Ben chimed out the end of one year and the beginning of another the sky over London was lit up with a beautiful light display very cleverly designed and managed, and in a secret location where only those privileged to know the whereabouts could gather together to watch, while others watched it from afar or on television, as did we. The reason for the secrecy was to help to prevent the spreading of the pandemic, and the plot worked beautifully as many thousands of potential visitors stayed away from London and celebrated New Year’s Eve at home or in their own local venues.

The morning dawned gently with a bright streak of sunlight shining briefly through a cloudy grey sky and bringing hope to an otherwise dull, damp, and misty morning, with the sheep in the nearby field seeming not to want to move from their night-time slumbers.

A stroll round out garden however brought a splash of colour to a day which continued to remain dull and bleak, with intermittent brief showers of rain encouraging one to remain peacefully indoors optimistically hoping that 2022 could turn out to be “The best year ever!” as a blipper friend wrote. Three cheers for optimism!!!
And A Happy New Year to all!!!
